HISTORY
Fiesta Colorado Dance Company started in 1972 by the Trujillo family, natives of Colorado. Jeanette and her brother Monty took the idea under their wings and with their teaching skills formed the performing dance company which is now known as Fiesta Colorado. It received its non-profit designation as a (501) (c)(3) arts organization in 1997.
From the outset, this Hispanic dance organization has been committed to entertaining, educating and inspiring the communities it serves through the performance of the rich repertoire of dance traditions found in the Mexican and Spanish cultures.
Fiesta Colorado Dance Company is recognized as a premier dance company of professional performance. Their performances have been specifically chosen and endorsed by the Mexican Consulate of Denver, the Grand Opening of the Lakewood Cultural Center, where the group presents its regular season. They have performed at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts for the Colorado Performing Arts Festival for 6 consecutive years. Their repertoire includes original choreographies that have been featured on several occasions with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, the International Mariachi Festivals, Theatre in the Park, The Chili Harvest Festival, the Colorado State Fair, Downtown Denver Cinco de Mayo celebrations and numerous other cultural programs and professional events. Over 60,000 people have had the opportunity to delight in the Company’s exuberant and colorful performances throughout Colorado.
